To be extended a membership offer, students are expected to attend at least one overnight camp to make sure Colt Cadets are a good fit for them - but we hope that you attend any and all of our events that you can!
While membership is an option for any student wishing to join our drum corps, please note that this does not necessarily mean your first choice instrument will be available. If you’re a brass player or you want to join the color guard, we have a place for you. Throughout our history, Colt Cadets have never had to limit the size of the brass or color guard sections. If you are a percussionist, we do have a limited number of students we can put on each instrument. In the event that your initial choice is not the best fit, we may suggest another instrument or section where we believe you would be more successful. This process allows us to ensure that every participant is placed in a section where they can contribute most effectively while ensuring a positive experience for the entire corps. |

Members who participate in the corps for 1 season qualify for up to $10k in scholarships to attend Wilberforce University; Ohio Private HBCU, as members of the marching band, more or less making college free in many cases. |
