Originally from Texas, Gerardo's first year of drum corps was 2018 with Phantom Regiment. In 2019, Gerardo went on to earn a contract with The Bluecoats. He was

the recipient of the 2019 MDC Bluecoats scholarship and marched a Beatles themed show called “The Bluecoats”. They won best general effect and placed 2nd at DCI finals with a score of 98.238.
